The Difference Between iOS and Android.

Let me start by saying this, iOS and Android devices BOTH have their downfalls. I am partial to my iPhone but I will state simple facts and try to be unbiased. To set the record straight I would like an HTC Inspire 4G.

  1. Android OS is mostly open source and iOS is not. This means that Android is more customizable than iOS. However the iOS is more secure and in the unlikely event that there is a viral mobile attack iOS will be safer for your sensitive information such as any credit card info you have saved on your phone for the AppStore and iTunes,
  2. More and more Android phones and tablets are 4G capable where iPhones and iPads are not. The downfall of having a 4G capable phone is that its not as widely available and you just paid for something that is virtually useless for the next 1-3 years especially on smaller networks such as Sprint or T-Mobile.
  3. When it comes to looks the iPhone in my opinion is sleeker and all around prettier than most of the Android phones The iPhone is shiny but it only has 4 models whereas there are hundreds of models of Android devices. That being said there is and Android style for everyone but they all have the same OS but most of the phones aren't built to the full potential. iOS is only on a few models and when a iOS version bypasses the capability of the phone there aren't anymore updates for that model. The same may be said for Android but its too young to really tell. iOS is built to run on only Apple devices and not multiple manufacturers.
  4. iOS devices have at most a 5 mp camera. There are a bunch of Android phones that have an 8 mp camera. However, on the iPhone pictures and videos appear better. While the phones both have capabilities of 720p resolution but the iPhone 4 has the retina screen which the eye cannot make out the individual pixels therefore leaving images looking smoother.

I'm really tired of people arguing with me and other people about who is better between iOS and Android when the reality is that both have their downfalls and people who are uneducated on the meaning of things such as "open source" use that in their arguments.

Apple has been in business since the 1970's when they released the Apple I. They have revolutionized the industry in many ways. They know what they are doing, if they didn't they wouldn't be one of the most valuable companies in the world. Google is one of the biggest internet companies in the world but they really have only been around about 10 years.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off or offend people. I'm simply trying to clarify simple facts about things for people who are just as confused about all the mindless banter as I was. :)

  1. I apologize for making this sound like iOS is better. I should really proof-read the content of my posts. The truth is that both have their downfalls. You should really research your devices before you buy them and figure out which is better for YOU.
