CEO of Apple Now Chairman of the Board

As of August 24, 2011 Steve Jobs is no longer the CEO of Apple. He had requested to obtain the Chairman of the Board position and was granted the privilege. Also, he strongly recommended COO Tim Cook for the open CEO position which Cook happily accepted.

Now there is a whole bunch of speculation as to why he resigned. The real reason is not known to the general public, however, Jobs has had some major trouble with his health and personally I believe that may have played a huge role in his decision to resign his position.

That being said there are also a whole bunch more people poking fun at the fact that he resigned. My favorite joke about it is:
"Steve Jobs has just created the newest line of Apple software, iQuit."
I really hate when people make jokes about things they know nothing about. Jobs didn't quit. He took on a less stressful role in the company. He will still be involved with major decisions.

This job change could be part of a recovery or it could be to relieve a worsening condition. All things aside I wish Steve the best in whatever he does and I appreciate all the years of innovation that Apple and Steve Jobs have given us. The last decade or so have been great with Apple innovations. Truly remarkable. Thank you Steve.
