A Little of Everything

Alright, its been awhile since I've done a post. Maybe you don't care or maybe you do. If you do care I'm sorry, I have started a new job and haven't had a whole bunch of motivation to write.

Anyway, I've been up to some things. Maybe they are interesting, or not. So in addition to working, I've been drinking myself into addiction. Its fun being drunk until I piss in a corner in my room (which I haven't done, ever). I have also been watching some things on my instant streaming service. One of which is Baker Boys: Inside the Surge. Its a military documentary that has been broken up into 4 episodes that are 53ish minutes each. Its interesting to me because it shows the inside the mind and heart and life of U.S. Soldiers in Iraq. It basically humanizes what our Troops deal with on a daily basis. Most people don't care but for the ones that do I highly recommend watching it.

Another thing I've been up to is Tango. Its a cross platform video calling app that allows you to make video calls over 3G, 4G and WiFi. Tango is really convenient because I can video chat with my friend who has and Android phone from my iOS device from literally anywhere. I don't like the fact that I cannot change the location of the box that shows what my camera sees. Other than that its awesome total convenience.

Well thats it guys. As always I appreciate any and all comments you could or would post. Let me know what you think. Later guys.

CEO of Apple Now Chairman of the Board

As of August 24, 2011 Steve Jobs is no longer the CEO of Apple. He had requested to obtain the Chairman of the Board position and was granted the privilege. Also, he strongly recommended COO Tim Cook for the open CEO position which Cook happily accepted.

Now there is a whole bunch of speculation as to why he resigned. The real reason is not known to the general public, however, Jobs has had some major trouble with his health and personally I believe that may have played a huge role in his decision to resign his position.

That being said there are also a whole bunch more people poking fun at the fact that he resigned. My favorite joke about it is:
"Steve Jobs has just created the newest line of Apple software, iQuit."
I really hate when people make jokes about things they know nothing about. Jobs didn't quit. He took on a less stressful role in the company. He will still be involved with major decisions.

This job change could be part of a recovery or it could be to relieve a worsening condition. All things aside I wish Steve the best in whatever he does and I appreciate all the years of innovation that Apple and Steve Jobs have given us. The last decade or so have been great with Apple innovations. Truly remarkable. Thank you Steve.

This is terrible.

I have who jobs, one of which I start orientation at 9 this morning. I just spent 45 minutes tossing and turning, trying to fall asleep. I've finally given up and even though I know I will be extremely tired, I cannot force myself to sleep. I should have never taken my nap earlier. Whoopsie. Needless to say I should never, ever take naps. Maybe I should drink myself into a stupor, however, I may not be able to wake myself at the appropriate time as to make it to my orientation. At least I have The Cleveland Show to keep me and my insomniac ass company.
Hmm...I seem to be hungry as well. Too bad Wendy's is closed. The irony of it all is that I'm really tired.
I just saw the grossest thing. Rollo just puked a few times and passed out in his puddle of gross. I'm still hungry though. Too bad the McDonald's out here closes at 10. HAHA...Cleveland Steamer. Wow I'm really tired.

Well lets try this sleeping thing again. Doubt it will work though, or maybe it will.

The Difference Between iOS and Android.

Let me start by saying this, iOS and Android devices BOTH have their downfalls. I am partial to my iPhone but I will state simple facts and try to be unbiased. To set the record straight I would like an HTC Inspire 4G.

  1. Android OS is mostly open source and iOS is not. This means that Android is more customizable than iOS. However the iOS is more secure and in the unlikely event that there is a viral mobile attack iOS will be safer for your sensitive information such as any credit card info you have saved on your phone for the AppStore and iTunes,
  2. More and more Android phones and tablets are 4G capable where iPhones and iPads are not. The downfall of having a 4G capable phone is that its not as widely available and you just paid for something that is virtually useless for the next 1-3 years especially on smaller networks such as Sprint or T-Mobile.
  3. When it comes to looks the iPhone in my opinion is sleeker and all around prettier than most of the Android phones The iPhone is shiny but it only has 4 models whereas there are hundreds of models of Android devices. That being said there is and Android style for everyone but they all have the same OS but most of the phones aren't built to the full potential. iOS is only on a few models and when a iOS version bypasses the capability of the phone there aren't anymore updates for that model. The same may be said for Android but its too young to really tell. iOS is built to run on only Apple devices and not multiple manufacturers.
  4. iOS devices have at most a 5 mp camera. There are a bunch of Android phones that have an 8 mp camera. However, on the iPhone pictures and videos appear better. While the phones both have capabilities of 720p resolution but the iPhone 4 has the retina screen which the eye cannot make out the individual pixels therefore leaving images looking smoother.

I'm really tired of people arguing with me and other people about who is better between iOS and Android when the reality is that both have their downfalls and people who are uneducated on the meaning of things such as "open source" use that in their arguments.

Apple has been in business since the 1970's when they released the Apple I. They have revolutionized the industry in many ways. They know what they are doing, if they didn't they wouldn't be one of the most valuable companies in the world. Google is one of the biggest internet companies in the world but they really have only been around about 10 years.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off or offend people. I'm simply trying to clarify simple facts about things for people who are just as confused about all the mindless banter as I was. :)

A Day in the Life of a Movie Theater Employee. Its true.

This is my first blog ever. I decided to start doing this yesterday after I got off work at my shitty employment place. I work at a movie theater. Honestly, the worst part of my day isn't the fact that I have to drag my ass out of bed at an early 11AM to make it to work on time, nor is it the dumbass retards that I work with. Its the motherfucking customers.

I hate the people that decide they wanna buy their underage children tickets to a rated R movie and expect me to let them in whilst mommy and daddy go eat, or shopping, or fuck in the back seat of their car because little Johnny cannot be away from mommy long enough for her to rub one off.

I recently had two 16 year old girls try to get into Friends With Benefits. Their response to my refusal was as follows:

Girl 1: "Well they sold us the tickets in the box office?!"
Girl 2: "I can call my mom, she isn't going to care."
Me: "Its company policy that anyone under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian in a rated R movie. That means your mom has to sit with you through the entire movie."

I really don't remember what they said after that but I ended up sending them to the first house manager I could find, but they came back.

They had changed their tickets to Rise of the Planet of the Apes which is rated PG-13. These 'darling' young ladies decided that they needed to put me in my place or just flat out be bitches towards me. I sent them on their way, with a smile on my face. :)

I have people do this to me all the time and its my job to put up with it. I've had this job since October of 2010, I am 21 years old, I make 7.25 an hour and I have had to work for everything I have. If you're so blind as to think that the people that sell you tickets and popcorn are just happy as can be and dont wanna punch you in the face when you get pissed at something they cannot control think again.

Sincerely,
